Overview

An award-winning educational gaming website that offers over 1000 learning activities for children in grades K-5. Covering a wide range of subjects including math, social studies, language and arts, typing, science, creativity, and logic, the website offers a range of interactive and educational games that help young minds build new skills efficiently while also promoting fun. From puzzle games and lesson plans to animated games, skill-building games, worksheets, and storybooks, the website has something for every child. In addition to traditional learning activities like phonics, word recognition, and colouring sheets, the website also offers engaging videos and experiments to help kids practice and retain key concepts.

This was a truly exciting project for us to work on, as it aligned perfectly with our own beliefs about the importance of fun in education.

Specifications

We were thrilled to have the opportunity to work with our client on this exciting project, which involved upgrading their existing website and adding a range of new, engaging games for early learners and their parents. Our client had a vision for unique and captivating games for each grade level in every subject, all featuring age-appropriate content. As a result, kids will have plenty of new things to discover and will be encouraged to keep coming back to keep on exploring. Our client entrusted us to lead the project from start to finish, including the creation of new games and their successful launch.

Challenges

01

Game Redevelopment

The initial platform for this project was launched almost 10 years ago, and the games were originally written in Flash. However, Flash games are no longer compatible with web browsers, so the client wanted to recreate these games using Phaser.

02

Retaining Users & Upgrading Site

One of the challenges we faced was updating the website and apps, while also retaining old users, by adding new games that appeal to children ages K-5, featuring animated characters and engaging visual storytelling.

03

Multiplayer Games

Another challenge was to design multiplayer games with various difficulty levels, allowing young players to compete with their classmates, friends, or anyone else in the world.

04

Target Audience

Given that our target audience is primarily preschoolers and their parents, it was important to create a game that would be well-received by children in grades K-5.

Our Tailored Solution

How we helped the client to get this educational game created

01

Refining the animation

Our team of skilled game app developers worked tirelessly to create interactive and educational experiences for young players, using a simple, engaging, and colourful interface. We spent time refining the animation of the characters to bring them to life and incorporated sound and visual effects to make learning fun and memorable. All of the existing games were also redeveloped into Phaser.

02

Retaining Users

As the pre-existing site already had a large number of registered users, we knew it was important to retain those users by developing numerous new games in a variety of categories. We designed each level to replicate gamified learning, the most effective way of retaining information.

03

Engaging Experience

Our HTML5 game developers also created various games tailored to meet the skills and learning objectives of kindergarten-aged children. Additionally, we helped our client strengthen their relationship with the parents by providing them with detailed checklists to evaluate their children's cognitive development, early math skills, communication skills, and motor skills.

Success Stories

Delivering results as an engaging and fun digital experience for kids

This educational gaming website has seen tremendous success, with consistently high traffic and continued growth. The response to the new games has been overwhelmingly positive, with parents, kids, and teachers alike appreciating their challenging but fun nature. The website and app have also become a go-to resource for parents looking to evaluate their child's readiness for kindergarten. The new games have exceeded all expectations in terms of downloads and received countless glowing reviews. It's clear that our approach to education through play is resonating with users and making a real impact.

There is no doubt that this project brought a little more sunshine and a greater vibrant rainbow to the lives of the little learners.

Progression

Our team of game designers and developers is tirelessly working to improve and update the previous games, both in terms of their front-end and back-end functionality. We have also begun implementing a multiplayer structure for the portal, which involves significant development on both the front-end and back-end. In addition, we are constantly adding new games across a range of categories, using a variety of HTML5 frameworks to ensure the best possible experience for our client’s users.
