Walkthrough of a hilltop mountain temple, Chandrashila.
With this project, our artists have tried to create a mesmerizing and immersive 3D experience of Chandrashila. They faced the challenge of real-time rendering of 3D assets due to time constraints. Therefore, they needed powerful real-time rendering software, and they chose Unreal Engine. Our skilled 3D artists recreated the scene, inspired by an on-site visit to the location in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. They painted landscapes, used lighting and shadowing geometry without developers' involvement. They also crafted assets like temples, stones, poles, flags, and grass, integrating them into the engine alongside selected megascan assets. UE's landscape tool was used to model the terrain, and a matinee sequence was used to render animated shots from various camera angles.
We, as an Unreal Engine game development company, brought this scene to life using PBR (Physically Based Rendering) textures. Unreal Engine's PBR capabilities are far more advanced than other gaming engines. This sophisticated feature streamlines the process for developers, as the lighting and shadowing geometry within the software are highly refined. We used Unreal Editor's VR mode and other tools to create the characters. We then integrated them into Unreal Engine to set up the materials and compose the scene. We created a VR setting inclusive of a waterbody and the surrounding landscape using Unreal Landscape Builder to provide a contextual environment for the characters.
